Barb’s career spans almost 25 years in employee development and career counseling, in both the private and public sectors. Since 2003, Barb has worked in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota, where she is Director of Career Services.
Treasure mapping is a holistic goal achievement model that Barb developed and about which she wrote a book called Goal Achievement through Treasure Mapping: a Guide to Personal and Professional Fulfillment. Published in 2005, Barb’s book won that year’s Merit Award in the self-help / psychology category from the Midwest Independent Publisher’s Association.
Barb’s master’s degree, from St. Mary’s University in Winona, MN, is in Human Development, with an emphasis on Career and Life Transition Counseling for Mid-life Adults.
